F1 IN MALAYSIA

              "Malaysians are pratical dreamers .They dreamt of holding a Formula One race in Malaysia.With their usual pragmatism they planned and built this circuit even they negotiated to bring the Formula One race here",said Malaysian Prime Minister,Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohammad while officiating at the opening of the Sepang F1 Circuit on 9 March 1999.

               The latest Sepang F1 Circuit occupies a ninety-hectare area and has a 5442 meters,15 turn circuit.All along the track,there are 4 natural stand at stragetic spots that can hold 100 000 people.The stylish pit buildings hold 30 garages and 12 elegant offices for official.The Sepang F1 Circuit has a total of 15 corners and 8 staright making it one of the thougest circuit.At 927 meter,the Kuala L umpur straight is the longest and drivers can accelerate up to 310KpH on gear 6.

                Turn 15 is one of the most desisve segments of the Sepang Circuit.It is from here that the drivers pick up speed agains to pass the start-finish line.And after finishing one lap,they are off again for another 55 laps,bringing the total number of laps to 56.
